'SIRIUS': THE YELLOW DISTINCTIVELY AROMATIC APPLE

'Sirius' is a late dessert variety robust to diseases, suitable both for organic production and integrated systems. Its fruit will please you for many months thanks to its very good keeping quality. Its full aromatic flavour high in sugar and with a hint of acidity is unmistakable and easy to remember.

Origin: 'Golden Delicious' x 'Topaz'

Tree: habit ramified, spreading, growth vigorous, branching medium, fruiting spurs medium to long, triploid

Blossom: mid-season, slightly before 'Golden Delicious', flower set medium, regular

Productivity: precocious, regular, fruits hang mostly singly, no need for thinning

Disease resistance: resistant to scab, tolerant to powdery mildew, no bitter pit observed

Picking time: about 10 days after 'Golden Delicious'

Ready to eat: 4 weeks after picking

Storability: in cold storage until March, in ULO (Ultra-Low Oxygen) technology until May

Fruit size/shape: size medium to large, shape globose, stem long and medium thick

Colour: ground colour green-yellow to yellow, occasionally with a slight reddish blush, some fine russet may occur in the stem cavity

Flesh and flavour: flesh yellow, firm, crisp, fine-grained, very juicy, melting, well-balanced sugar (14,7 % Brix) and acids, flavour rich, aromatic
