Our varieties dominated the 2025 winter tasting in Holovousy

The traditional winter tasting in Holovousy took place on 8 January 2025. Every year, it introduces degustators to modern promising apple varieties and advanced selections of Czech origin.

Although our varieties commonly place very well in this competition, this year brought unprecedented recognition for our breeding program: our varieties took the top five places both in flavour and the overall ranking:

  1. 'UEB 4919/4' (a new selection still in the testing phase)
  2. 'Lyra'
  3. 'Camelot'
  4. 'Ghiva'
  5. Melinda® Dolcevita - 'UEB 6581'

These results show that our varieties combine rich flavour, excellent texture, high juiciness, and overall appeal. With new varieties and advanced selections in the lead, they demonstrate the future potential of our breeding.
