'RUMBA': THE APPLE TREE FOR THE SMALLEST GARDEN

'Rumba' with its extraordinarily narrow tree habit is a perfect choice as a solitary tree in small gardens. The tree, decorated with attractive bright red fruit, will surely get a lot of attention and will not take much space. After picking, the apples will please you for many months with their juiciness and fine aromatic flavour.

Origin: 'Red Topaz' x 'Rondo'

Tree: habit columnar, very narrow and compact, medium vigorous, diploid

Blossom: early, about 4 days before 'Golden Delicious'

Productivity: precocious, medium to heavy, light fruit thinning recommended

Disease resistance: resistant to scab, moderately tolerant to powdery mildew

Picking time: early to mid-October (with or shortly after 'Golden Delicious')

Storability: in natural storage until March

Fruit size/shape: size medium, shape obloid, stem short to medium long

Colour: ground colour green-yellow, covered up to 80 % by flushed bright red to carmine red over colour, without russet

Flesh and flavour: flesh firm to medium firm, crisp, fine, very juicy, flavour harmonic, good to excellent
