Discover the diversity of apples at our Open days

The traditional Open days at our institute in Prague are approaching!

What traits in apples are the most desirable? Why is it so surprisingly difficult for new apple varieties to gain a foothold these days? And why has Opal® made it? Find out the answers and take the opportunity to taste some of our most successful varieties.

On 4 November in the afternoon, visitors can look forward to a lecture (in Czech) about our breeding program and the opportunities and challenges in modern apple breeding.

On 5 November, the morning is reserved for elementary and high school student groups. In the afternoon, we will welcome every curious mind - families, orchardists, gardeners, and individual enthusiasts.

Also the other program at our institute will be rich as usual. Along with our station, visit also other labs and discover how plants communicate, see them growing in sterile conditions, visit our greenhouse, inspect pollen grains under the microscope, and learn if we can protect plants without spraying.

An afternoon full of interesting discoveries and answers to questions you may never have thought of awaits you.
