Open days 2025
The traditional Open days at the main seat of the Institute of Experimental Botany in Prague take place every early November and always attract hundreds of curious minds - children from elementary schools, high school and university students, individual visitors, and families. This year, the 3 November afternoon was dedicated to university students and other visitors with a deeper interest in science, while pupils, families and other enthusiasts could arrive the next day.
The program was rich as usual - visitors could take a look at plants grown in sterile conditions, visit the greenhouse, find out more about the revolutional biostimulator invented by the Isotope laboratory, watch plant roots or pollen grains under the microscope, discover how plants "know" in which direction to grow, and - learn more about current opportunities and challenges in apple breeding and taste some of our most popular varieties. Apple slices always disappeared in the blink of an eye...
