'Moonlight' is a columnar variety with compact habit and weaker growth. Like all our varieties, 'Moonlight' bears gene for resistance to scab. This winter apple cultivar is a heavy but quite regular cropper and bears juicy, aromatic fruits with relatively long storability. It might be a good choice not only for home gardens but possibly also for the commercial production of dessert fruit and especially juice industry.
Origin: 'Goldstar' x 'Telamon' (Waltz®)
Tree: tree type columnar and compact, bears on spurs only, vigour weak, diploid
Blossom: mid-season, flowers heavily and quite regularly
Productivity: very precocious, produces nearly regular heavy crops
Disease resistance: resistant to scab, tolerant to powdery mildew
