'Lyra' is a truly exceptional apple: if stored in ULO (Ultra-Low-Oxygen) conditions, it can be eaten nearly all year round. The fruit does not only keep long but is also surprisingly firm, crisp, and tastes great. This new variety is a heavy but regular cropper, is resistant to scab, and does not have special growing requirements. All this makes it ideal for both home gardens and intensive organic production.
