Ellipso® ('UEB 47021') - the highly aromatic snack apple
'UEB 47021' is a very healthy, dessert variety robust to multiple diseases, which boasts excellent growing qualities and high resistance to scab. Its weaker growth and type of branching form an ideal crown structure. Plus, there is no need for fruit thinning and no early crop fall. All these traits make 'UEB 47021' highly grower-friendly.
This variety is just being launched under the trademark Ellipso®. This name refers to the mathematical form ellipsoid, which the fruits remind of: its a-axis symbolises health (resistance to diseases), b-axis is characterised by the quality of the flesh, and c-axis is represented by good storability of the fruit. Above all, Ellipso® boasts pleasant, sweet-tart, very good taste. These smaller fruits may be ideal as snack apples.
The trademark Ellipso® under which the variety 'UEB 47021' is grown and marketed is owned by the company Artevos, Germany.
