'UEB 6581', one of several varieties sold and promoted under the joint trademark Melinda® Dolcevita, is a club variety bearing particularly beautiful pinkish red fruits with even more remarkable super-sweet flavour. Together with its crunchy consistency and juiciness, all this makes this apple a perfect choice especially for those who have a sweet tooth.
This variety is one of our latest high-flyers, with about 500,000 trees planted over the last six seasons of its sale.
Origin: 'Fuji' x Opal® ('UEB 32642')
Tree: habit ramified, spreading, with medium vigour, forms open crowns, diploid
Blossom: mid-season
Productivity: precocious, good, requires good thinning to produce annual crops
Disease resistance: resistant to scab, tolerant to powdery mildew, no bitter pit observed, watercore may occur at harvest but disappears during storage

Fruit size/shape: size medium, shape round conical to conical, stem medium long
Colour: yellow ground colour on almost 100 % covered with carmine red over colour with solid flush, russeting observed rarely
Flesh and flavour: flesh firm, crisp, juicy, very sweet with a little acid, very good fruity aromatic flavour, remarkable sugar/acid ratio of up to 40:1
