'SONET': THE JUICY HARMONY FOR TINY GARDENS

'Sonet' attracts attention thanks to its compact growth, suitable for smaller gardens, and especially its juicy fruit full of juice, with a melting, well-balanced flavour. Harvest in mid-September ensures full flavour and storability for a few months.

Origin: 'Topaz' x 'Tuscan' (Bolero®)

Tree: habit columnar, vigour weak to medium (more vigorous rootstocks, for instance MM 106, are suitable), diploid

Blossom: mid-season

Productivity: very precocious, heavy, fruit thinning is important to prevent alternate bearing

Diseases: monogenic resistance to scab, tolerance to powdery mildew

Plant Variety Rights in the Czech Republic CZ 17/2006 (granted 26.04.2006)

Picking time: about mid-September, 2-3 weeks before 'Golden Delicious'

Storability: in cold storage 2-3 months

Fruit size/shape: size medium, shape globose, stalk medium long

Colour: ground colour yellow-green to green, sometimes a slight orange blush, russet-free

Flesh and flavour: flesh white, medium firm to soft, very juicy, taste melting, harmonic sugar/acid ratio
