Apples from Střížovice are headed to farmers' market
On Maundy Thursday (2 April 2026), the riverside near the Liberec Regional Authority building will come alive with a traditional farmers' market, where farmers and regional producers will present their products.
Visitors will have a unique opportunity to taste our varieties – modern Czech apples bred directly in the Liberec region, with an emphasis on fruit quality and disease resistance.
Disease resistance is one of the key focuses of our work. Through the use of genetic resources and long-term selection, we develop varieties that require less chemical protection, making them more environmentally friendly and safer for consumers' health.
Participation in the farmers' market is an opportunity for us to present the results of our breeding to the general public. Direct contact with consumers allows us to gain valuable feedback and at the same time demonstrates that our varieties have their place both in modern orchards and on the tables of apple lovers.
An article about the tasting of our varieties and the products presented by other participants was published in the Liberec Daily (Liberecký deník).
