'Telse' is an autumn variety that combines some of the characteristics of its parents: the appearance of 'Elstar' and strengths of 'Topaz'. Fruit is attractive and tastefully very good, reminding of 'Elstar'. From 'Topaz', 'Telse' inherited resistance to scab and tolerance to powdery mildew. A good plus point of this variety can also be its less vigorous growth in comparison to 'Elstar'.

Tree: habit ramified, spreading to drooping, medium vigorous (less vigorous than in 'Elstar'), produces many fruiting spurs, bears mainly in clusters on both short and long shoots

Productivity: medium precocious, medium to high, fruit thinning required
Disease resistance: resistant to scab, tolerant to powdery mildew
