'HELIODOR': BRIGHT YELLOW AND JUICY

'Heliodor' is a robust late dessert variety intended mainly for home gardens. It can draw a lot of attention thanks to its beautiful bright yellow apples shining on the trees. Enjoy its medium- to large-sized fruits with plenty of juice and a pleasant sweet taste with a bit of acidity.

Origin: 'Golden Delicious' x 'Topaz'

Tree: tree habit ramified, spreading, medium vigorous, with a long vegetation season, diploid

Blossom: mid-season

Productivity: semi-precocious, heavy, fruit thinning required

Disease resistance: resistant to scab, very low susceptibility to powdery mildew

Picking time: early October (with 'Golden Delicious')

Ready to eat: 2 weeks after picking

Storability: in natural storage until March

Fruit size/shape: size medium to large, shape globose to conical, moderate ribbing, stem long

Colour: ground colour bright yellow, occassionally with a slight reddish blush, skin slightly waxy and shiny, russet free

Flesh and flavour: flesh yellowish, medium firm, crisp, very juicy, flavour good, sweet-subacid
